Shanti Monti 2022 01 colour light mountain

it was an exceptional warm evening on the 1st of January. 15° C in the daytime. We were laying in the sun naked, like in summertime. The evenings were mild with warm air. Bats were flying before filming, and in the daytime we observed crickets, heard single cicadas, saw single butterflies and wasps, flies, ticks, and even the mice returned in the tipi. The snow had gone, and the soil was full of those tiny earthworm hills. Unusual for the season bird songs were heard. The nights full of stars, no moon.

A magical new year's beginning. I sensed it as a nature's reminder that everything is taken care of. That our world we live in is kind to us. There is no danger from outside. Most fears and trouble come from ourselves, from inside. Which, in the end, are just illusions.

All colour was obtained in camera, lens, and diffusion filter. No saturation added in post. Only minor highlight correction.

For those who wonder about the colour 'effect' on top of the frame: this was not intended, it''s the top barn door of the matte box whose angle was set too low for this wide lens. I discovered it too late, during editing. I should have cut it away, but decided to leave it as it is. It's a subtle additional effect.
