He’s been hailed the Geordie Springsteen for his songs about working class life, and now Sam Fender is on the cusp of international superstardom. His album Seventeen gong under went straight to number one and the title track went up to no 3 in the official singles chart – the first guitar band to get a top ten hit since the Arctic Monkeys in 2013. In part 2, of Sharuna Sagar’s exclusive report, the North East musician talks about his meterioic rise, how his life has changed and the rockstars on speed dial helping him through it.
