Setting Down a Crimp Seam

I always giggle at the names of the tinsmith and coppersmith machines, which were designed in the very early years of the 1800s. And, like it’s name, a setting down machine sets down seams.

This video is all about how to set down a crimp seam, or how to use a setting down machine. Or, basically, how to use old tinsmithing machines!

However, before that can happen at all, there’s a few steps that must be done first. You first must create a crimp seam by using the burring machine.

This video is like being in the shop with me - I even mess up! But you get to see many uses for the machines, then, and how to fix some burr mistakes!

Let me know any questions, or check out the housecopper.com website for blogs and products, of course.
