2015 Bay to Breakers Intactivist Bike Ride JFK

I took my intactivist sign-covered bike and trailer to the 2015 Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco​. I recently got a new video camera and decided to experiment with it mounted on the back of my bike in an attempt to capture people's reactions as they read the signs.

The bike has a double-sided sign which reads "Protect all children from genital mutilation." The trailer has a duplicate signs on each side which read "Cut the bullshit not the foreskin" plus a third sign on the back which reads "Were you protected from genital mutilation?" The sign on the back also includes a picture of a child being subjected to genital mutilation.

This video was taken on JFK in Golden Gate Park

At about 1:50, a woman sitting on the side of the road reads my signs and dismissively exclaims, "Oh, come on!" I had no idea this occured until seeing this video.

At 8:00, there is a man (wearing very little) on the left side of the frame who runs towards me. He approached me to tell me that he has a mutilated dick and that he likes it. We had a brief conversation and I wrapped up by telling him regardless about how he feels about his own body, we need to protect the next generation. We parted amicably as I wished him a nice day.

At 9:50 I get ambushed by a cowboy and a native American. :-) They were throwing bang-snaps on the ground. (That's the popping noise picked up by the camera.)

At 19:15 a woman deliberately hits my genital autonomy flag with her collapsed umbrella. I had no idea this happened until seeing the video.

At 19:45 a young woman jokingly tries to go for a ride in my trailer.

At 23:00 a woman carefully studies the first two messages then makes a faint groan when she sees the picture on the third.

At 28:50 a supporter runs over to me and we have a brief conversation after I give him a sticker.

There are so many details that I miss while doing any public event so being able to review video like this is very interesting to me because it allows me to have a much better idea of how effectively I am reaching the public as well as how I might improve my outreach.

Please pardon any rough spots. Today was the first time I tried recording video this way and I realize there is room for improvement.
