While Russia called the discussions “constructive,” major disagreements persist — especially Moscow’s demand for Ukraine to cede territory, which Kyiv rejects outright.
Putin has accused European allies of blocking US-led peace efforts, insisting Russia has no intention of attacking Europe but is “ready” if war is forced upon it.
Ukraine and European partners are urging Washington to revise its draft proposal, saying it currently favours Russia. The White House says the plan is being refined, but a final agreement remains out of reach.
