G!RO - LOCKDOWN UPDATE

As we are sure you are all aware, over the weekend, the government announced a new national lockdown that is to come into force from Thursday. This means once again, we’ll be changing the way we do things here at G!RO. We’re not going anywhere, and we’ll be bringing all the lessons and experience from lockdown 1 back in March, straight into effect and running a takeaway only service. That means you guys, our beloved and loyal community will still be able to pickup all your favourite coffee and treats from us here 7 days a week!!

The new lockdown is designed to keep people at home to ensure the spread of coronavirus is decelerated and the NHS is not put under unnecessary burden. It is our social responsibility to do what we can to accommodate this and follow the guidelines, whilst providing a force of positivity and great coffee to all our friends, in the face of these extraordinary circumstances. This means we’ll be making a few key changes from our current tier 2 setup Wednesday evening. This will primarily mean the closure of all seating areas indoors and outdoors and moving to a takeaway only service as before when we moved out of lockdown 1. We will be doing this 7 days a week, and ask that everyone helps us by following the guidelines and all of our onsite instructions detailed on signage and by staff. Especially if you are visiting on the weekends.

Fortunately, the right to exercise and be in the great outdoors has been protected in the latest announcement which is great news for all our cycling friends. It’s such a great tool to clear the head and forget any anxieties caused by this tumultuous time, so for this we’re grateful. That said, as cyclists, we must take our social responsibility seriously and follow the guidelines to ensure we can continue to get out on two wheels. With this latest announcement, that means, riding solo or with a maximum of 1 other, safely and sensibly. For this reason, G!RO will not be serving anyone seen to be breaking these restrictions - not to be difficult, but to ensure we are doing all we can to ensure G!RO is acting in a socially responsible manner.

It is important we all work together to get through this challenging period, so far we have been overwhelmed by the incredible support for ourselves and more generally the support network our community has become and it’s been incredible seeing everyone rally together and tackle the challenges of 2020 as a team… Truly incredible, so thank you!

We hope to see you all soon for a takeaway, and maybe one day in the not so distant future, we can all enjoy a brew and a Sunday Social bunch ride together when this all blows over. Thanks again everyone for the ongoing support
