Custom Probe and Headstage GUI with Dr. Mohamed El Tabbal

In this episode of the NeuroNexus Podcast, we sit down with ambitious postdoctoral scholar Dr. Mohamed El Tabbal from the Salk Institute for Biological Studies to talk about his innovative approach to visualizing neuronal activity.

The Radiens Suite offers a powerful 3D model of neuronal activity, allowing users to visualize recordings using probes from the NeuroNexus catalog. However, researchers using non-NeuroNexus probes typically need to work directly with the software development team to input custom probe specifications.

Like many researchers who need solutions quickly, Tabbal took matters into his own hands. He developed a custom MATLAB GUI that allows user to build a probe and headstage layout for non NeuroNexus equipment to interact with the Radiens Suite allowing use of the full capabilities of the Allego software.
