Radioactive Contamination Found in Indonesian Shrimp | U.S. FDA Issues Warning

Radioactive contamination has been detected in Indonesian shrimp after a U.S. FDA warning led to the recall of Great Value frozen shrimp sold in Walmart stores. The shrimp, produced by PT Bahari Makmur Sajati, is suspected of being contaminated with cesium-137, a dangerous byproduct of nuclear fission. Indonesian authorities have launched a multi-agency investigation, tracing the contamination to scrap metal in Banten and naming PT Peter Metal Technology as a suspected source. Officials say food safety and shrimp exports remain a top priority.

As reported by Kompas TV.
