How to install dovecot and sendmail | Linux mail server (CentOS/RHEL)

Sendmail is still the number 1 MTA (mail transfer agent) in use today, followed by Postfix, while Qmail is a distant third. The Linux sendmail and dovecot are highly customizable packages that allow Server Administrators to configure the mail server according to the requirements of each organization.

In this video I used CentOS 8, which is similar to RHEL, to demonstrate some of the functionalities of both sendmail and dovecot packages. For DNS server, we used the previous Windows Server 2019 with the sanuja.local domain.

A detailed demonstration of how to disable firewall and SELinux: https://youtu.be/IiqO5VN5e58

Please be advised some of the network configurations done here are specific to my lab environment on VMware Workstation Pro 16. However, the Network Systems and Server Administration fundamentals remain independent of the specific configurations.
