How To Paint A Simple Harbour Seascape In Watercolour

https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/OwlsAndFlowersArt
I live near the sea and am drawn to painting the sea and sky the most often. Here I show you how to paint a simple but effective harbour scene inspired by 2 of my painting heroes, Edward Wesson and Edward Seago.
I'm using vintage cotton watercolour paper from the 1950s that I purchased from The Vintage Paper Co in Stromness, but you can use any watercolur paper, I like a cold pressed or a rough surface, the urface of my paper is rough.
I'm using a mixture of Prussian blue and Ultramarine blue with the odd touch of paynes grey and raw sienna for the sea and sky, the same sky colour for the distant headland and boats, with a bit of light red for the closer boats. I use a large oval wash brush, but any large brush that holds plenty of water will do, a number 6 round brush and a couple of riggers.

I hope you enjoyed the video, please like and subscribe if you want to share my journey of the ups and downs of learning to paint in watercolour! Thank you xx
