SR Merchant Navy Class 35006 Locomotive - Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, 25th August 2022

Made my first trip yesterday on my railway adventures of 2022, to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, where me and my Grandpa rode behind the morning train hauled by the 35006 SR Merchant Navy class Locomotive, also known as Peninsular & Oriental S. N. Co.

First built in December 1941, then rebuilt in 1959, it was then withdrawn from service in August 1964 and moved to the Woodham Brothers Scrapyard in Wales and remained there until 1983, when it was rescued for preservation and restoration. Efforts took a long time, but eventually were successful, as the Loco was back to full working order in 2015 and returned to service on the GWSR in 2016, where she remains working to this day.
