British Grand Prix - 1967

This is an extract from the 1967 Ford film 'Nine Days in Summer' which charts the development and racing performance that year of the Lotus 49.

This section of the film covers the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 15 July 1967. Team Lotus had Jim Clark and Graham Hill driving in Lotus 49s. This was the first competitive outing for the Lotus 49 R3, which is on display in the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu. The R3 was built overnight before the race. Hill led the race for some before having to retire with engine problems on the 64th lap. Clark went on to take the chequered flag in the Lotus 49 R2.
