Britain 'can't be the only country that doesn't control its own waters': George Eustice on Brexit

Environment Secretary George Eustice said "we will see" if farmers and fishermen will get a better deal after Brexit as talks continue.

"We've got certain very clear principles here, which is we cannot be the only country in the world that doesn't control its own waters."

Boris Johnson has ordered his Brexit negotiator, Lord Frost, to head to Brussels on Sunday for 48 hours of "intensive" discussions with EU counterpart Michel Barnier in a last-ditch bid to stop the UK leaving the jurisdiction of the European Union without a trade deal on December 31.

That came after Mr Johnson and Mrs Von der Leyen, the European Commission President, failed to make progress on any of the key areas of fishing, state aid and how to police a deal.
