Tony Allen tribute to Art Blakey - live in Lisbon Full show 4K

Tony Allen playing live the tribute to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers in 2017 at festival LIsb-on.
Tony Allen was a Nigerian drummer, composer, and songwriter and was the drummer and musical director of Fela Kuti's band Africa '70 from 1968 to 1979, and was one of the primary co-founders of the genre of Afrobeat music. Fela once stated that, "without Tony Allen, there would be no Afrobeat." He was described by Brian Eno as "perhaps the greatest drummer who has ever lived."
A lot of western rock and jazz drummers may have achieved greater household name fame, from Art Blakey to Ginger Baker, John Bonham to Keith Moon. But Allen left his own indelible mark on music.
Allen was one of the ultimate small-print musicians, whose name on the credits was a guarantee of quality. Most recently played alongside Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn as part of the supergroup The Good, the Bad and the Queen.
Rest in Peace...
