French police warn drivers of boozy deer ‘overindulging in forest aperitifs’

Police from France’s central-eastern region of Saone et Loire issued a warning to motorists to take extra care in wooded areas after deer were seen acting erratically in spring.

The deer were believed to have accidentally consumed alcohol from eating buds, fermented fruit or decaying vegetation.
