“The Search” feat. Sean Johnson & The Wild Lotus Band is the third single release from Starita’s ambient, avant-garde debut album “The Wake Up Call.”

Considered the most intense track on the album; a sound journey through the stages of spiritual catharsis, release, and epiphany. This song speaks to the quest for happiness and all of the mistaken efforts we put our energy towards, expecting that it will fulfill this need. Instead of regret, “The Search” honors both the ups and downs of life; the duality that completes the human experience.

Described as a journey through electronic pulsating beats evolving into a peaceful meditative lush wash of sound. The start of the track has a dark minimal techno/house vibe and the addition of the mantra, delivered through Sean Johnson's vocals, add a new dimension of energy and vibrancy to the melody of the beat. The mantra carries it into a very interesting change where the African Kora is incorporated over field recording of an outside meditation.

This track distinctively showcases the deep, rich, resonant, soothing, and soulful voice of New Orleans native, spiritual-centered, mantra-focused artist, Sean Johnson (of Sean Johnson & The Wild Lotus Band) amidst the lush soundscape. The featured mantra (also referenced as prayers) in this track comes from the Hindu and Yoga traditions. One translation or interpretation of it refers to the guru (or teacher) is the creative energy in the universe, the sustaining energy, the transforming energy, and at times, the destructive energy. The guru (the teacher), the presence of wisdom permeates every particle of this vast immeasurable universe. And perhaps, most importantly, the guru (the teacher) lives within us. While the video shows Buddhist imagery from Starita's travels through Bhutan along with Hindu mantras in the music, this song and video hope to capture that spirit; the feeling of the presence of wisdom, the journey, the seeking, in all its many kaleidoscope of forms.
