Pablo Picasso was born on October 25, 1881, in Málaga, Spain, a baby so lethargic he was feared stillborn. From his early childhood years to his final hours at age 91, Picasso was devoted to mastering his deeply personal art. He’s considered one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, and his work is studied for its meaning and celebrated for its creativity. Nearly half a century after his death, Picasso continues to bewitch, confuse, entice, and provoke. The artist reinvented his style at a rapid pace, shattering our most primal understanding of the world with his fractured faces and splintered perspectives. He created tens of thousands of artworks.
