Setting up a reverb or delay on an Aux Send in Pro Tools is best practice. This allows the engineer to tweak the wet sound without affecting the dry sound, allows multiple instruments to share a reverb, and on a Post-Fade Aux, when a track is muted, so will the Effect Send.
