70-410 Objective 2.2 - Deploying Printers with Active Directory and Windows Server 2012 R2 Lab
This deploying printers with Active Directory video, covers three methods of deploying printers with AD. It follows along in the 70-410 series and the ExamRef book for objective 2.2. In this video I will cover deploying printers with GPO via the Print Management console. We will further investigate the problems associated with deploying a printer using the Print Management console. We will also cover deployment of printers via GPO and preferences. I further cover item level targeting which overcomes some problems. We also examine how to setup and use location based printing also known as printer location tracking with Active Directory. I explain how to setup the location schema in Active Directory Sites and Services for Sites and Subnets as well as how printer location tracking works and what the user will expect to see.
Note: disregard the Sales printer disappearing at 17:40, it was not part of the video… I ran into issues and the fix was rebooting the client machine to fix it… I edited out that part to save you from my frustration and forgot I used a different user to logon with.
