LED Turn Signals on Yamaha R1 + Seat Cover Change and AliExpress Mirrors

My wrecked Yamaha R1 has a salvage title, which means its resale value is down even if the bike looks good and performs as it should

So I’m going to do an inspection that will give me a rebuilt title, that’s not really a clean title but at least something that resales at a higher value and that insurance companies favor as well

Today is the home stretch before the inspection, I’m excited to see this project being done after all the headaches with welding and bad surprises…

So I change my screen, I put on mirrors (the models you see all over eBay, Amazon and Aliexpress) and I got myself some LED blinkers front and rear that I need to wire

And because the flashing relay on the bike was the OEM Denso, I bought one that’s adapted to LED turn signals and it did the trick!

I also changed the old seat cover all scratched up by a brand new one from Luimoto, first time I do any kind of upholstery job and it went pretty good

Now I feel like this 4C8 R1 is 100% and ready to go on the road

That project was definitely a refresher after not DIYing for 10 years and I also learned a lot (like TIG welding and the architecture of an R1)
