Hookups work for some people, but I’ve realised I want emotional connection more than temporary attention.
So being a gay autistic man, I found hookups are not for me,
Why? Because I want connection,
Not to feel passion for a moment and then leave,
I know I would feel empty afterwards,
I know in the 2026 world hookups are a big thing,
Maybe I am part of a small minority of gay men
Who want to share more than just the body,
I want a cuddle and a film together,
A walk somewhere, or a meal together,
To laugh, talk, and feel comfortable around someone,
I know hookups work for some people,
But they are not for me.
