MIDORI ALTERNATIVE? FAUXDORI? SEPTEMBER LEATHER TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK: inserts by MIDORI & MOLESKINE

I wasn’t sure about committing to a Midori Traveler’s notebook. I loved the idea of a flexible system of a traveler's notebook but I wasn’t sold on the price. I thought why not try out a cheaper version, a Fauxdori, and see how I got on with that. So with that in mind I purchased a September Leather Traveler's notebook from Amazon. The size is slightly bigger than passport but that was one of the reasons I purchased it. I didn’t want to just use Midori inserts. There are lots of other inserts available and the September Leather Traveler's notebook would seem to be able to accommodate many. I thought I would try a Moleskine cashier book, which is bigger than the Midori Inserts. I also purchased some Midori inserts to try those for size. I will have to mix and match these to see whether the size difference is a problem when writing in the Traveler's Notebook. I haven't tried Field notes but I may give them a go as they look like a good sturdy reliable notebook.

Camera Stuff and Things
I tend to shoot these videos on my own. I'm fortunate that I have a small production company so I have reasonable access to equipment. But as is said: the best camera is the one you have with you. I also use mobile phones if that is what I have available. A great help when shooting on your own is a decent monitor and especially if you don't have a rotatable screen.

It isn't a cheap mic. If you're on a budget shop around as there are some great mics out there. I like Rode products and use their mini mics on my run and gun productions.
