ACUR@ANU 2021- Opening Ceremony and Keynote Address

The Australian National University (ANU) proudly hosted the Australasian Conference of Undergraduate Research (ACUR) Conference for 2021, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and the support of the John Curtin School of Medical Research and the ANU Gender Institute.

Following an international call for abstracts from undergraduate (including Honours and MRes) students, the ACUR@ANU conference welcomed 149 student presenters from around the world. The conference also featured 12 supporting events including keynotes, panel discussions and workshops. This opening address and keynote speech, was presented live online as part of the ACUR@ANU 2021 conference. Join us at the official opening of ACUR@ANU 2021 as we welcome all students and supporters to the three day conference. This opening ceremony includes a Welcome to Country from Wally Bell, Ngunawal man and Traditional Custodian; a keynote address from Professor Grady Venville, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) at The Australian National University (ANU); an address by Helen Wilson, Deputy Australian Statistician at the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS); and a welcome from Emeritus Professor Angela Brew, Chair of the Australasian Council for Undergraduate Research (ACUR).
