Austin Music Network - What's That Cover November 8th 1999 - Nova Sax Quartet

What's That Cover was a show on the Austin Music Network that aired in the late 1900s. This episode features The Nova Sax Quartet. The Nova Sax Quartet was founded in Austin in 1982 by Richard Lawn. At the time that this episode aired, The Nova Sax Quartet consisted of Richard Lawn - Alto Sax, Douglas Skinner - Soprano Sax, Gregory Wilson - Tenor Sax, and Joey Colalusso - Bari Sax. The Nova Sax Quartet has recorded on the Musical Heritage Society, Crystal, and Equilibrium labels. The Nova Sax Quartet's Performance begins with them playing "Quartet For Saxophones" by Seymour Barab. "Quartet For Saxophones" was released on The Nova Sax Quartet's 1986 album, InNOVAtions. The performance ends with two songs from The Nova Sax Quartet's recently released album, Outside The Box. These two songs are "Three Sketches for Saxophone Quartet, by Richard Lawn" and "Sax-O-Doodle by Rudy Wiedoeft (arr. Richard Lawn)". This episode of What's That Cover ends with an interview of The Nova Sax Quartets founder, Richard Lawn.
