Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's son-in-law General Hussein Kamel
Hassan said Saturday (12/8) he had initiated contacts to help
topple the Iraqi regime. Hassan spoke at his first public appearance
since his defection to Jordan on Tuesday (8/8)

and now the republican guard is spread all over every baghdad and
searching everybody..it is natural that arrests will take
place..there will be arrests at random as was the case in the
past, sometimes without any guilt, and there will be executions
done and this is expected because of the nature of that regime and
its improper and dubious ways

countries that have interest in iraq

sot: "my contacts are official and non official, in and outside
iraq, but we will make contacts on the arab and international
levels for the benefit of iraq we will work actively for
lifting the embargo through our international contacts because
this embargo is not in iraq's interest, or its people's....we had
the interests of our citizens at heart, it was the suffering of
our people which prompted us to leave the regime and work for the
welfare of our people
