LIVE IN CONCERT: KUYABILA - Chikuni Tonga Music Concert in Monze.

This type of music was quite important to a Tonga person, back in the days – it still is actually. It is sung by one person, male or female accompanied by the friction drum locally known as Namalwa or a rattle which the locals call Muyuwa. It could also be accompanied by an ordinary drum called Ngoma using a special rhythm. In traditional Tonga, this type of singing is usually performed at various occasions such as weddings, funerals and also initiation ceremonies.
