E70 X5 35d M57N2 Broken Timing Chain

2011 BMW X5 xdrive 35d M57N2 engine, original owner since purchased brand new. Strictly maintained thru the years. First 'brake in' oil change at 3k miles, then every 7-8k miles. Right at 130k miles, lower timing chain brakes without any previous symptoms. The same engine can be found in E90 335d and e60 535d.
The interesting part of that car is, that it is US version and it has one of the latest M57 engines installed from BMW. So it has AdBlue, more complex EGR system, electrically control Swirl Flaps, different bigger Turbo-charger from the European version M57. In the video, we going to pretty much replace all the problematic / known issue related parts, aside from the repair of the timing chain failure. We going to:

- Straighten the camshafts
- Completely repair the cylinder head
- Install all new OEM timing chains, guides, tensioners and gears
- Turbo-chargers oil supply and drain system will be serviced with new OEM parts
- Checking of the big-end bearings
- New 24 x hydraulic lifters + 24 x rocker arms
- Servicing the ZF gearbox + differential + transfer case
and many more...
