Malham Cove, Janet's Foss and Gordale Scar. A Yorkshire Dales Classic

After our original plan in Wales had been lost due to bad weather, we decided on a lower level walk in the Yorkshire Dales. The weather here was looking more promising, at least in the morning. We decided on the stunning, if a little touristy, round of Malham beauty spots. Starting from the moorland above Malham, we bagged the obligatory peak for the day before descending to Malham Tarn and on to Malham Cove. From there we past through the village of Malham and headed to Janet's Foss for a dip. Finally we took in Gordale Scar which was impassable. A short detour up the hillside took us back to the car. A great day out to start the year.
