BMW 650 Across Belize, El Salvador and Honduras

After meeting up with my new riding partner Lenny we leave Guatemala for a quick trip to Belize. I had no original plans to visit Belize but decided to "go with the flow!" I holed up in San Ignacio while Lenny spent a couple of days on the Cayes. We then re-traced our route back to Rio Dulce in Guatemala before heading for El Salvador. Our next border crossing was the notorious crossing into Honduras. I'd read so much about how difficult it was and how corrupt the border officials were. Sadly, it was all true! The heat was oppressive, the corrupt bureaucracy frustrating and the constant police spot checks spoiled what I'm sure was a fascinating country. Suffice to say, we were glad to get through Honduras as quickly as possible! Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this episode and it gives you a flavour of Central America.
