South Korean football team fail to reach 2024 Olympics after losing to Indonesia

In Qatar on Thursday, South Korea's under-23 football team lost to Indonesia on penalties, and were eliminated from the Olympic qualifiers.
The match at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha was the quarterfinal of the Asian Football Confederation U-23 Asian Cup, which doubles as the qualifying tournament for the Paris Olympics.
Headed by coach Hwang Sun-hong, the South Korean team drew the game 2-2 at the end of 120 minutes of game time, but lost 10-to-11 in the resulting penalty shootout.
Before this defeat, South Korea had played at every Olympic men's football tournament since the Seoul 1988 Olympics.
