Yemen's Houthi militia, backed by Iran, claimed responsibility for a missile attack on a container ship in the Red Sea. The targeted ship, MSC United VIII, owned by MSC Mediterranean Shipping, was en route from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan during the attack. MSC reported that there were no injuries to its crew, and the ship successfully evaded the attack by informing a nearby coalition naval warship and taking evasive maneuvers. Israel confirmed intercepting a hostile aerial target in the Red Sea region, separate from the ship attack.
