For me burek/pie /pita is the best food there is in Bosnia and Herzegovina. You can have so many variety of their pies but I like the most is the burek. The only thing that is holding me from making their pies is the making of the thin sheet dough called jufka or kora or the filo dough. It's really a time consuming process but it's more tasty compared to the store bought ones. So today I am making the pie they called Šareni burek. It's a pie filled with meat and mix with potatoes. In translation it's called colorful burek. Burek is the term for meat pie. If you are using cheese they have name for it and if you are using green vegetables they have name for it too. The name of the pie differs on what is your filling. But burek is the pie filled with meat mixed with onions and spices. The famous spice they are using there is the vegeta. This is my first time to make this kind of burek and I am happy husband likes it.
