The 1st Scheduled Waste to Energy (SWtE) Plant in Malaysia Powered by Cenviro

As part of our commitment to investing in renewable energy, we are constructing the first schedule waste to energy plant in the country next to our Kualiti Alam Waste Management Centre. The new thermal treatment facility will replace the aged incinerator 1 that had been in operation since 1998.

The SWtE will treat 100 tonnes of waste per day, 33.000 mt per year and will produce 3.4 MWe green power which will be sold to the Grid. It will be able to treat all types of scheduled organic waste being solid or liquid in drums, bulk or waste bins. The plant thus reduces the CO2 emission from power production by approximately 12,000 t/y.

The SWtE has been contracted to HKG, a joint venture company between Hansol from Korea and KNM from Malaysia. The SWTE plant is expected to be operated in March 2018.
