Family Cycles to 'Find One More Cure' after Losing Daughter to Cancer | Mashable Docs

Two weeks after she got engaged and two months after her 29th birthday, Kaitlin Hennemuth Reap was diagnosed with Stage IV Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. In order to bring some humor to her diagnosis and to "create a target" for all of her fears, she named her tumor "Dave." She also became involved with Cycle for Survival, a national movement to beat rare cancers. Though she lost her battle, her loved ones carry on her legacy. Cycle for Survival's high-energy indoor team cycling events have raised more than $100 million dollars and all donations go directly to rare cancer research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
