110 | Trusting your gut when dealing with a narcissist

Duane starts the show by discussing the importance of trusting your gut and intuition when dealing with your relationships. Early in the relationship you do not know what you are dealing with and there can be a strong desire to focus on the good and ignore the “bad”. Invariably in the post-narcissistic relation “review” there will be signs that you ignored early on. It is very important we learn to trust ourselves and focus on reality instead of the fantasy. DSD then takes a question from a listener who’s ex has said in front of them and their 14 year old child “I wish you didn’t have to go back and forth.” Duane talks about ways to deal with that and what it all may mean. A listener comments how in their upcoming mediation they requested separate rooms but was advised against it. A viewer shares how in their mediation they were asked to share something “nice” about the ex and that seemed to make things better. Duane then discusses the “Fly-Fix-Fly” methodology of problem solving and how it is important to try things and adjust to find what works best for you. We then take a caller who is worried that their 15 year old son is becoming distant. This conversation leads to a discussion on how you can sometimes take a negative and turn it into a positive, like with the DSD show. Finally we take a question from a listener who’s ex is posting false statements and narratives on Our Family Wizard.
