what exactly is an elopement

When I was young I thought eloping was just “to runaway and secretly get married”

In todays reality, it’s changed into a lot more than that,
and it can kind of be whatever you make it. It’s a way to avoid planning a big eventful wedding day that some people get stressed to even think about!
You can make it just the 2 of you, or bring just parents, siblings, or
grandparents. You can bring/invite whoever you want.
The point is for it to be small, fun, intimate, and meaningful.
You can pretty much go wherever you want/can afford.
Whether it’s a backyard, a cute airbnb, a scenic park overlook, a courthouse, a beach- even an Ohio or WV beach? sure! Anything. You don’t even have to go out of your state if that’s inconvenient for you. You don’t have to be super adventurous and hike mountains either, you can make your elopement whatever you want without breaking the bank. The only rules are to make sure it reflects you two, and that you keep it meaningful and personal and focused on your marriage!
