Trained Eyes See What Others Miss

Most people look for beauty.Few people are trained to see excellence.
In a keynote I delivered recently, I shared a story from 13 years ago in Shanghai when I was GM of Park Hyatt Shanghai awarded 2009 best of the best hotel of the year for VIRTUOSO.
Every two weeks, I went to a flower market.It was not beautiful.Not curated.Not “luxury.”
But every single time,we found one flower.
One detail.
And that detail changed everything.
Because excellence is not built in perfect environments.It is built through disciplined attention.
Luxury is not what you show.It is what you choose to see.
That is the difference between average and exceptional.
And that is what I teach leaders and teams around the world.
