Four Plants To Repel Mosquitoes | DIY Bug Away Containers

Create a mosquito repellent container 🦟
The weather is getting warm and we want to be able to enjoy our outdoor living spaces without biting mosquitoes. I like to use citronella geraniums, lemongrass, lavender and marigolds to naturally deter mosquitoes. The four plants work well as companion plants in containers, which you can easily place in all of your favorite outdoor sitting areas. To prevent mosquito bites rub a small piece of the citronella leaf on your skin or make your own DIY spray with the following recipe:

Harvest 2 cups of citronella and lemongrass leaves
Dehydrate the leaves
Add dehydrated leaves to 3 cups of coconut, olive or grape seed oil. Simmer in a pot on low heat for 30 minutes. Let oil cool. Strain oil into a spray bottle. Apply to skin to repel bugs. Reapply every 2 hours as needed.
