Sump Pump Install for Flooding Yard. Pouring rains cause flooding quickly in low areas between homes in most subdivisions. Houses are built with poor grading so water from the yard above and the roof pools up betewwn the homes and floods into the house.

Here we are installing a sump pump with sump pit and attaching a French Drain (gravel perforated pipe along with a large catch basin and attaching the roof drains as weel into the sump pit.

Its really raining here (3 inch downpour) and its a muddy emergency.

(1st) The sump pump is installed into a hole where the catch basin will sit. It temporarily pumps water out as we work.

(2) dig the sump pit - this is the hole for the sump liner which holds the pump.

(3) dig all trenches that will lead to the sump pit.

(4) install pipe, gravel and catch basins

(5) connect the discharge line from pump to where you are going to dishcarge the water. In this cace, its 1 1/2 inch PVC to a Pop Up at the side walk.

(6) Finsih by covering your trenches.

Its really the same as any other install except for the MUD. Its heavy and slippery. Work carefully and safely.
