Kupukupu Malam is Channel NewsAsia's web-exclusive documentary that explores the flesh trade in Indonesia. In the local language, kupukupu malam literally means "night butterfly" but the term is also used as a reference to sex workers. In our three-part special, Channel NewsAsia's Indochina correspondent Pichayada Promchertchoo travels to Jakarta, Surabaya, Subang and Baturraden to investigate the thriving sex market, as the government under President Joko Widodo wages an aggressive battle against prostitution in order to end the flesh trade by 2019. But will it succeed?
