Set Up Time AND Hold Time Part 1

Flipflop Design Issues

After watching this tutorial, one will know what is set up time and hold time

It is explained in detail using a positive edge triggered flipflop and Timing Diagrams

Set up time: It is the minimum amount of time before the active edge of clock that the input data should be constant inorder to capture the data properly

Hold time: It is the minimum amount of time after the clock edge that the input data should remain constant

A flipflop suffereing from set up or hold time violation or both, then its output is unpredictable

We also use different input signals and check for set up and hold time violations
