Dimitris Papadimitriou is one of the most important composers in Greece. He was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1958. In 1976 he studied Law at the university of Athens and at the same time he participated to the following theatrical performances as a composer; "Oedipus Rex", "Fausta" "We and the Time", "The Vegera".
His first compositions, as a professional composer, included works for piano, violin and piano, a symphonic suite for ballet, "Theatrical Trio" for piano, cello and violin, studies for classical guitar, savartoura for BBC 40 years after war, electronic meta-symphonic suite. In 1981 he released an album called "Landscapes" (progressive kind of music).
In 1985 he released a cycle of songs called "Time of Growing". As a film composer he also participated to the following movies; "Ilektrikos Agelos" (Rentzis T.), "Revans", "O Arhagelos tou Pathous" (Vergitsis N.). In 1990 he released an album with Greek art songs called "Vios Ellinikos" (Hellenic Life) while in 1994 the following two albums with music for piano and cello; "Alkionides tou Erota" (Alkionides of Love) solists Georgiadis G., Malouhos D., "Vorio Anemo" (North Wind) solists Georgiadis G., Adam D, "Live recording at the Musikverein in Vienna, Frulingsfestivals".
