I've never had this drink before | How to Drink

This pre-prohibition classic drink from way back in the 1800's has escaped my grasp until now. I hope it's good...

This week on How to Drink I'm doing something a bit different from the normal show. I do an occasional series on my Patreon called "Drinks I've never Had" where I pull drinks out of old bar manuals and try them for the first time on camera. Sometimes the results are surprising, sometimes disappointing, sometimes inspiring. The use of molasses in my Capt. Marvel drink for example came from an episode of DINH.This week I'm making the Star Cocktail, an old classes comprised of Applejack and Vermouth, and the results were surprising. Star Cocktail
1.5 oz. -or- 45 ml. Applejack
1.5 oz. -or- 45 ml. Sweet Vermouth
3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
2 Dashes of Gum Syrup
Stir and serve up
Garnish with a lemon twist
