A 2025 Stanford organizational psychology study found that the employees most likely to survive AI-driven restructuring are not the most agreeable, efficient, or aligned. They are the ones who create productive friction — who push back, ask the uncomfortable question, and say out loud what the room is thinking but not saying.
AI is the most agreeable colleague that has ever existed. It validates, it smooths, it never challenges the premise. Which makes the agreeable, frictionless, efficient human employee the most directly comparable — and therefore the most replaceable — person in the building.
This video makes one argument: the single most dangerous thing you can do for your career right now is to never disagree with anyone. And the most protective thing you can do is to become the person who introduces the right friction at the right moment. That is a role AI cannot be hired into.
