Low Porosity Hair: Leave-in conditioner after towel drying?

In this video I tested the effect of applying leave-in conditioner after towel drying my low porosity hair. The result was loss of curl so for me it works better to just apply the leave-in in the shower on soaking wet hair using the squish to condish method. See below the products I used in the video:
