‘Punishing the people’: Chalmers’ CGT reform blasted as an innovation killer
Sky News host Jaimee Rogers praises Finder co-founder Fred Schebesta for calling Labor’s CGT changes an innovation killer, urging Australians to find better opportunities overseas.
“These are the words of someone who succeeded here and now believes the next generation cannot,” Ms Rogers said.
“The reason is Jim Chalmers' decision to abolish the 50 per cent capital gains tax discount, a tax setting that has underpinned how startups attract investment, recruit talent and reward risk for decades.
“You cannot tax aspiration into existence. You cannot build a more innovative Australia by punishing the people willing to take the risk.”
