Direct Lake in Fabric: Advancing Semantic Models Beyond Import and Direct Query - Miguel Félix

Fabric brought new features to the Power BI world and one of the main changes is on the storage mode. Until now users could use Import mode and Direct Query, both options with their pros and cons, for those that wanted a little bit more they could use Composite Models to get the best of both worlds, but that added a level of complexity in modelling.

With this innovative approach to the data, Fabric brings the Direct Lake approach to semantic models and changes the way we access data in Power BI.
In this session we will investigate Direct Lake mode and understand the main concepts alongside the main differences with the other available options for connectivity. We will also investigate what are the requirements for using this new modelling option, and the current limitations.
