KRS-One on How Real Men Don't Exist in Mainstream Hip-Hop (Flashback)
In this flashback from 2015, KRS-One dropped knowledge on hip-hop culture in an interview with Jonathan Gasana, where he went on record to say that real men don't exist throughout the genre's mainstream. During the segment, he clarified the distinct differences between "black men" and "black boys," while suggesting that every successful rapper in the mainstream is stuck in the mind frame of a "boy." With that said, he also credits women for their heavy influence on the culture, noting that 90% of emcees who came up during hip-hop's golden age were raised by single mothers.
