This young Elephant that has fallen into this deep agricultural well has been a constant visitor to this area in search of food. Although the villagers had attempted to rescue the elephant, that has been failed due to the depth and the muddy condition of the well. So they have informed the wildlife authorities for a rescue mission. As the elephant is covered with muddy water, it is raising its trunk out of water so that it can breath conveniently.
There have been several similar incidents and many elephants have lost their lives by drowning like this in vain. As the elephant is huge, the only way to rescue is to lead him out of the well by cutting down the edge of the well gradually. So the wildlife officers cut down a canal towards the forest side by an excavator so that the elephant can walk and save its life without a much effort. As the elephant was fully confused to find the direction, the officers lit firecrackers to chase away the elephant towards the forest. Number of giant elephants have lost their lives due to this type of unsafe agricultural wells as there is not a permanent solution for this problem yet.
