Connecting Art and Education | Wolf Brinkman | TEDxCoolsingel
At school children usually have to learn the rules of language and mathematics. Wolf invites them to think about the why behind these rules. His approach is best characterized by the creation of space for children to explore themselves by using very simple materials and sharing their discoveries with each other.
Wolf Brinkman describes himself as an artist and a philistine, who like to think about the pointlessness of things. As an artist Wolf Brinkman is interested in the way art can support and deepen the language and mathematics education. With support of the Boijmans van Beuningen Museum he developed a unique and highly appreciated learning program for primary schools.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
